Zenhōinteien

Zenhōin is one of the six sub temple of Miidera. The park has a surface of 2681 m² and in 1934 (9th year of Shōwa Era) was classified as “beauty spot-historic site”. In 1941 it has been buried under a landslide due to cloudburst. Fortunately, there was still the original map by the garden scholar Shigemori Mirei, and, under Okazaki Akiaki’s supervision, the pond and the stone were excavated under the mud and the whole garden was restored.
